Do you remember those good ole days when fresh air was free! - Comments Off
Aw those where the days, you could go outside you’re door and breathe in to your hearts content and it wouldn’t cost a penny! O.K… I know I’m being a bit over the top here, but can I ask you… would you pay for fresh air?
A couple of years ago you’d never have thought of going into a shop to buy a bottle of water, if you said it to people back then that you were thinking of selling water in your shop you’d have been told that you were crazy and who was going to buy water when all you had to do was stick your head under the tap for free!
But times have change and attitudes have changed. With the great advances we’ve made with new technology unfortunately we also have produced a lot of waste products and gases. The way we live nowadays it seems harder to find somewhere you can go to get a breath of fresh air, you watch the footage on TV of people commuting through smog or in some of the oriental countries where all you can see is cyclists traveling around with what looks like doctors masks on their faces.
So what are you to do?… O.k. you could travel to mountain top get some there but this option isn’t available to everyone and it would also be a bit time consuming if you could do it a couple of times a week but, what about the average Joe.
Well your problems is solved if you live in Columbus in the U.S (although they are popping up all over the place), you can now try out an oxygen bar where you can sit and have a cup of tea and put on a mask and breath in pure oxygen. The bar (no alcohol is served) is supposed to be doing really well. Its clients use it to help relieve headaches and the local hockey team uses it before their matches for an added energy.
It may seem a bit crazy to some of you, the thought of people paying for air but then they said that about bottled water and look what happened there.
Until an oxygen bar opens near you, visit www.scienceofbreath.be and we’ll show you how to make the best use of the air you’re breathing in now!
Same Workout, Better Results - Comments Off
Bored with your workout? Audio books make your workout bearable– even enjoyable. Whether you are a frequent gym-goer, or someone who occasionally works out, listening to audio books during your workout will sharpen your results. There are many ways for the fitness-minded to utilize audio books– about as many as there are different exercise routines.
Here are just a few ways listening to books to get better results from the same workout you’ve been doing.
1. Build your stamina. If and while you jog, listen to an audio book. Doing so will increase your stamina. In other words, the audio book will take your mind off the physical activity. You will then feel inclined to jog longer; thus you will burn more calories and shed more pounds. Of course, this can also be done with other types of exercise, like weightlifting, but this is one of the more common ones.
2. Workout on the go/While travelling. If you want to build muscle tone, or simply want a great workout, The Enroute Workout Personal Trainer will help you do so even when you think you cannot. This workout was created for all types of people. It instructs the listener on how to keep in shape during travel or the daily commute to and from work each day. You will learn how to improve your circulation, muscle tone, prevent limbs from falling asleep and do a number of other things without even getting out of your seat!
3. Try a new workout. Audio books can teach you a new workout– like yoga. Yoga Sanctuary, by Shiva Rea, is a great learning tool for beginners (the compact disc is accompanied by an instructional booklet) and for those farther along who already have some basic knowledge of hatha yoga. The strengthening and relaxation techniques offered on this recording are also accompanied with beautiful music that only serves to increase the student’s relaxation. It is also a flexible course in yoga in that there is no harm in shuffling the exercises– they can be learned in any order.
4. Get Motivated. Getting in shape is a rigorous task– this is where it will help to have your own motivational speaker. Anthony Robbins probably comes to mind and he has many of his own titles available on compact disc for your benefit– including Awaken the Giant Within. Perhaps your goal is to lose weight and have a slimmer body, or to have a more muscular one; Mr. Robbins’ audio books can give you the motivation and the confidence to achieve it. Listen to them while doing your bench presses and see how they transform your workout and your life.
5. Audio books can prevent you from giving up on the healthy lifestyle. One of the biggest problems people face when changing to a heatlthier lifestyle is that oftentimes many changes won’t continue with it past a week’s time. Incorporating audio books into your exercise routine will inspire you to work out on a more regular basis. If listening to The Living Language Series in the gym is something you enjoy, then of course you’ll find yourself returning more and more to the gym.
6. Meditate using audio books. Pick out an audio book dealing with meditation. Why? Meditative breathing is the simplest concept in the world: basically, you must breathe in through your nose and exhale from your mouth. While this is occurring, you must try and concentrate on your breath or some other object. Of course, there are variations to this type of meditation– but the bottom line is that meditation has its health benefits. For one, it allows for more oxygen to reach the brain– most people’s brains are starving for it because they do not know how to breathe correctly. Are you trying to lose weight? Meditation will develop your metabolism for the better.
Again, let audio books revolutionize your workout. If you do, you will see drastic results for your own overall fitness. Not just that, but you’ll come out healthier minded in the long run, too. And on top that, audio books make getting in shape enjoyable.

Forecast for Investment Real Estate in 2006 - Comments Off
So 2005 is almost over and investors are looking for the best cities for investment real estate for 2006. Well I’ve been following the industry for almost 20 years and I’ve confident to say that I can make an educated guess on what cities are going to show the highest real estate investment returns for 2006. First let me start off by saying that no one can know for sure what cities will have the highest growth rates for the new year but with enough experience and knowledge one can at least make a surprisingly accurate educated guess.
Cities to Invest in for 2006
1. Orlando, Florida – While places like Phoenix and California have increased at a pretty steadily rate for 5+ years Orlando has only recently started booming over the last few years and is still my #1 pick for investing. There are many reasons why I feel Orlando is going to grow steadily over the next few years but one of the main factors is that families are flocking to Orlando for vacation and as we all know family vacations ARE NOT effected by economics. People continue to go on vacation regardless if the economy is up or down which is something few industries do. So with that said, real estate all over the United States may level off over the next 5 years but as long as Orlando keeps happy families coming in, Orlando will not be affected by any negative real estate developments.
2. Las Vegas, Nevada – While many believe Las Vegas has hit a plateau in real estate pricing, I believe there is still a good amount of juice left in this little piece of Nevada desert real estate for several reasons. One being that Las Vegas real estate will stay strong because this is not a bargain town filled with tire kickers. For some unknown reason Las Vegas is one of those cities where you go on vacation and forget about the pocket
book. The more people that move here the more traditional real estate appreciate, the more people with money vacation here, the more investment real estate appreciates.
3. Biloxi, Mississippi – This is by far the newest city to feel the investment real estate boom. You see as some cities become less attractive to invest in investors ban together and start in another areas and Biloxi Mississippi seems to be this new place. Hundreds of investors are looking at Biloxi Mississippi to be the next Las Vegas and only time will tell if the public agrees with their decision. So you maybe asking “Mark, Why isn’t
Biloxi Mississippi your number one pick for cities to invest in for 2006?” The answer is easy, this is a VERY new investment town and there is a chance it could flop right off the bat. Only time will tell if this town is worthy for the 2006 investment real estate forecast.
Best state for investing in real estate for 2006
Florida – My choice for the best state for real estate investing for 2006 is still Florida. There is just too much going on here for me to think differently. The state as a whole is still widely undeveloped and the whole state seems to be working together to bring in tourists with quality attractions for people of all ages. The senior citizens love the climate and
relaxed way of living and kids love the amusement parks and the beautiful beaches. This is bring in a huge amount of people not only to vacation here but live here as well.

Rotary Tables and Rotary Stages - Comments Off
A rotary table is designed to be used in conjunction with vertical mills. When a rotary table is put on a vertical mill what you create is a machine that is theoretically capable of reproducing itself.
A standard milling machine set-up usually involves aligning the work with the table and then with the spindle. The table can be accurately moved with the hand wheels making this a simple operation for most. Aligning a part on a rotary table however can be difficult because the work has to be clamped into position. This is not always easy when you are working alone.
Most experts suggest that you start by doing the rotary table work first which can eliminate the need for precision aligning. Aligning the milling spindle with the rotary table can be done by indicating the hole in the center of the rotary table. You then need to spot drill the center on the work you wish to have line up with the rotary table. Finally put a pointer in the spindle that is accurate. After doing this set the work under the spindle and lower the head until it engages with the center mark at this point clamp the part down. And there you have it, locked and ready to work with.
Rotary stages are used in industrial robots, fiber optics and photonics, vision systems, machine tools, assembly, semiconductor equipment, medical component laser machining, electronic manufacturing, and other high-performance industrial automation applications. Rotary stages provide the best angular positioning and velocity control. Applications range from indexing to high-speed laser machining to precision wafer inspection. All of these applications are fine tuned to the best numbers possible using rotary stages.
There are several types of rotary stages at this point in the game however the ones getting the most press are the laser guided rotary stages. Utilizing lasers helps create the most absolute positioning to date. Some of the newer rotary stages are ideal for applications that require X, Y and q degrees of movement for ambient and high vacuum environments. They tend to feature high resolution, high stability as well as being available for ambient and high vacuum environments. Experts also agree that having the choice of lateral and rotational degrees of freedom also lends that extra precision that is needed in delicate jobs as well as the strength for larger projects.
Is a Relaxing Vacation the Impossible Dream? - Comments Off
While traveling on the Metroliner from a wonderful and relaxing trip seeing friends in Washington, DC, I realized how difficult it is for some many business owners and executives to take a vacation. Is the thought of a relaxing vacation an impossible dream?
As a sole practioner, I have learned that if I do not stop and smell the roses, enjoy my family and have some fun, I will be sabotaging not only my career but also my life.
Vacations and days off are an important part of any career plan. They allow you to think a bit differently and find that balance you need. Colleagues and clients also perceive you as a person who not only recognizes a need for balance but also is not a control freak.
I believe it’s really possible to leave the office both mentally and physically. It just takes a bit of planning and some very deep breathing.
Be Prepared
Look at your schedule for upcoming projects and deadlines. Try to take care of as much as you can before your trip and allow for emergencies when you get back. Schedule upcoming meetings and projects on your calendar early, so that you are not rushed when you return. I often create a To Do List and use different folders so that when I return from a trip, things are as organized as they can be. By being prepared, you will be able to put your project’s aside and enjoy your trip.
Delegate
Determine well in advance who will be taking care of your responsibilities while you are away. Ensure he or she has the information needed to answer questions and that if decisions must be made, what the appropriate comfort level is. For me, I have an administrative office that handles any emergencies for me. It’s a lifesaver. I know that my clients are speaking to real people who can help move the issue toward a successful resolution. If you don’t have an administrative office, speak to a few call centers in your area. If nothing else, your clients will hear a real voice and know that the message will be taken.
Notify Your Clients
Tell your clients in advance that you will be traveling. If you normally respond to email and phone messages within an hour, your clients need to know that you will not be readily available. If they know when you will be back and who to contact, emergencies are not as drastic and they will be able to gauge the level of importance. Be sure to give the same information on vacation emails and voicemails (office and cell.)
Extra Protection
If you are able to schedule a quiet day in the office for yourself, before your official return, do so. By telling clients that you will be back on Tuesday, when you will really be in the office Monday, allows you to answer those emails and return some of your calls without the stress of being rushed.
Being Connected
If you must be connected and check in with your office, either by phone or email, I suggest taking care of things every few days and in the morning or very late afternoon. Remember, you are on vacation and balance is important.
Relax & Day Dream
Bring books and magazines that are not related to your business. Vacations allow us to think about things we never would have dream of. Last December, while on vacation sitting in the sun in Bonaire, I thought of a fabulous idea for my business. After a few short minutes of thought, I decided to give it a try. I credit the success of that idea and successes in my business to the fact I was on vacation.
I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing summer vacation!

Two Types of Project Managers - Comments Off
The concern of a project manager is to deliver a project on time, on budget and with the quality (functionality) as defined. The Time and Budget aspects are relatively clear and straightforward. They are not less difficult to manage, but most people involved in the project and external stakeholders, know what (figures and timelines) you are talking about. The quality aspect however is often open to discussion. And when you enter these discussions, the budget and time aspect will consequently open for them selves.
Before you know you are in the middle of a flight that has no destination, no fuel indicator nor estimation on the remaining flight time.
There are however methods on the market which provide the professional and certified project manager all he or she needs to fulfill the job. Still, different managers will shape the method according to their personal preference.
There are two kind of project managers, who balance somewhere on the scale of involvement in the subject. At one end is the manager that is highly involved and seen as a “foreman.” At the other end is the “activity” or “people” manager.
In the first case the project manager manages the content, functionality or quality more than the other resources. In the second case, the project manager should trust on someone else that is knowledgeable to steer the function (quality).
Both roles are possible as long as the role is communicated to the team and that the responsibilities are clear. As the second role requires more resources, this role is preferred for larger and more complex projects.

What Do You Know About VoIP? - Comments Off
What is VoIP
VoIP is an acronym for voice over internet protocol, aka voice over ip phone. A VoIP, in essence, is a computer phone that allows you to make phone calls from your computer to anyone in the world, e.g., PC to PC, PC to phones – landlines or cells.
The voice signal converts to data packets and travels across the internet through a VoIP platform, and then converts back to voice at the receiving end of the communication exchange. Leading telecom experts are projecting that 75% of the world’s communications will be done on VoIP within the next several years.
What Kind of Equipment Do I Need?
You will need a computer with internet access and an inexpensive microphone if your computer does not have one built in. Although most VoIP voice over ip phone providers require high speed internet connections, there are a few that can be used on dial-up connections.
How Can I Place a Call or Receive a Call?
Basically, the same way you would a regular phone, except on your PC. When you download a VoIP voice over ip phone line on your computer, a phone usually appears on your screen. The computer phone acts like any other phone in that you can dial numbers on it from a pad, or click on a contact’s pre-programmed name, and press the call button. You will then hear the phone ringing to the party you have called and can talk to them when they accept the call.
When receiving a call, the phone will ring on your computer and you can click to accept the call and talk, or let it ring (based on the number of rings you have set up) and forward the caller to your voicemail.
What Kind of Features Does a VoIP Phone Have?
Typically a VoIP voice over ip phone not only has audio capabilities, but also three-way calling, text messaging, and contacts list. Some VoIPs even have webcam capabilities. In addition, there is usually a button to click that can indicate to others when you are available, unavailable, away, or off line.
Who Can I Call Using a VoIP Phone?
Most reputable VoIP computer phone providers limit PC to PC calls among their own subscribers for privacy purposes so that the quality of sound is not compromised.
Most reputable VoIP voice over ip phone providers have their own patented technology.
Some VoIP solutions providers require limiting PC to phone landlines or cells to their own subscribers, while others do not.
Advantages of VoIP
• With VoIP computer phones, you have unlimited talk time to anyone in the world from PC to PC for a flat monthly rate
• Most VoIP voice over ip phone providers offer drastically reduced costs for calling PC to landlines
• Most VoIP’s offer reduced costs for calling PC to cell phones, however, prices often vary depending on the cell phone carrier.
• Savings of up to 80% off current phone bills.
What are the Costs for VoIPs?
Typically there is an activation fee which varies between $20.00 to hundreds of dollars, although some are hidden.
Monthly fees, after enrollment, varies between $5.00 per month to $99.95 per month.
If you do not have a microphone on your computer, you would have to purchase one. Cost is between $5.00 to $40.00.
Things to Watch Out For with VoIP Services
• Hidden costs
• Unsecure lines – meaning anyone can listen to your conversation because of shared servers or open platforms, thus making you vulnerable to viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and unscrupulous hackers, which ultimately can corrupt your computer and create a costly computer crash.
• Inability to be used with dial-up connections
• Public listing of your name and/or phone number
• Many VoIP services have spyware.
Dee Scrip and her close friend Andy Murray operate the website http://www.whypay4calls.com. Where you can experience a 7 day free trial with a secure line on patented technology. NO contracts, obligations, or hassles!
GPS Tracking – Why You Shouldn’t Leave Home Without One! - Comments Off
What is GPS?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System. High above us, there are a group of 24 satellites orbiting the earth constantly providing information to tell us the map location (latitude and longitude) of a car or other vehicle. It also tells us how fast the vehicle is traveling and in what direction.
How is GPS Tracking Information Helpful?
• For parents, it takes some of the worry out of your kids driving long distances home from college. You know where they are and when to expect them home. • For parents of teenagers, you never have to wonder if your son or daughter is where they say they are. No more late night phone calls asking - "Where are you?" • For baby-boomers, the shoe is on the other foot - it helps to take some of the worry out of your elderly parents driving home from vacation or just driving around town. You know where they are and this allows them to be more independent. • GPS tracking is customer service at it's finest. You know instantly which of your drivers is closest to the customer needing help. • Imagine how thrilled your customers will be when you can tell them exactly when to expect their delivery! • For employers, using GPS tracking allows you to know how fast your employees are driving, how long a break they are taking (vehicle hasn't moved), and if they are where they say they are! • GPS tracking also allows you to monitor fuel usage based on how fast your employee is driving and the automatic mileage feature reminds you to schedule, regular preventative maintenance. • GPS tracking is customer service at it's finest! You know instantly which of your drivers is closest to the customer needing help. And Imagine how thrilled your customers will be when you can tell them exactly when to expect their delivery! • GPS Tracking can eliminate the need for having your truckers fill out driving logs. • Many insurance companies now offer discounts for vehicles protected with tracking systems.

Motivation; 7 Musings on Motivation - Comments Off
1. Most of us are motivated by one of two things – inspiration or desperation. Most successful people choose inspiration as their motivation.
2. “There’s always a way, if you’re committed.” – Tony Robbins. The question then becomes, “Are you committed?” Because if you are, if there is not already a way, you can make one.
3.Once you set a goal and commit to a goal, you can have only two results. You either achieve the goal, or you have reasons (excuses) why you didn’t.
4. We tend to get confused about whether we really want to do something. We say we want to and then we don’t do it. There are only three categories we can fall into:
I want to want to.
I want to.
I will – The only category that works is “I will.”
5. Here’s a motivating question – What’s currently in your life that you would like not to be there and what’s currently not in your life that you would like to be there?
6. What kind of lifestyle and career would get you up early, keep you up late, and cause you to live each and every day with excitement, purpose and passion? Get clear on the answer to that question and you will be well on your well to designing a life well lived.
7. In order to be successful at anything in life, we need to take “the CPR Approach”. CPR stands for consistent, persistent, and resistant”
consistent in our actions
persistent in our drive
resistant to set backs and all those who may tell us we can’t do it.

Borderline Schizophrenics and Paranoid People - Comments Off
In psychology classes in colleges across America, they discuss the issues of paranoia and schizophrenics. Such anomalies are fun to study and generally they are studied as brain disorders. But there are some very interesting facts about these folks, which often do not consider. First many borderline schizophrenics are off the chart on the side of intelligence, as well as their similar paranoid anomalies.
I have met some paranoid people in my day and many schizophrenics; they are interesting anomalies actually. Sometimes we are annoyed by paranoid people, yet often intelligence agencies do not try to stay away from them and would rather recruit them if you need something done. Not all schizophrenics are bad, some are quite pleasant and one in 100 people are said to suffer from some from of schizophrenia.
For those who are annoyed by these folks, you should not let others bother you so much really. If you find yourself bothered by paranoid people and you wish they would leave you alone. You might simply tell them:
“Just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not after you?”
See what they say then, as you might find them letting down their guard and thus break the ice and find it much easier to deal with them as if they were normal folks, just like you or I. So, consider this in 2006.
